To make the story of GE’s super materials more relatable, we created a pair of moon boots using the same high-tech materials GE developed for the first moon landing.
We pulled carbon fiber from jet blades to make up the shoe's body and repurposed the thermoplastic rubber used for astronauts’ boots for our soles.
In the countdown to launch, we released editorial content to talk about GE’s contributions to the Apollo Missions. And when we dropped our sneakers on the 45th anniversary of the moon landing, The GE Missions sold out in just 7 minutes.
